Most professional drivers overall, including those operating trucks, buses, and coaches, are required to hold a valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC). Simultaneously, this is a crucial certification that ensures drivers meet specific industry standards.
Initial CPC Training:
New drivers must undergo Initial CPC training henceforth, that involves completing Modules 2 and 4 secondly, this training, along with three other modules, is essential for obtaining a DQC and also the right to drive commercially.
Periodic CPC Training:
To maintain their DQC, professional LGV and HGV drivers must complete 35 hours of Periodic CPC training every five years. This ongoing training ensures that drivers stay up-to-date with the latest regulations, safety practices, and industry best practices.
Failure to comply with these training requirements can result in the loss of a driver’s DQC, above all making it impossible for them to drive commercially.
